Sonya has crafted an excellent ghost story full of suspense and intrigue. This is balanced by just the right amount of culture and humor. The interactions between the main character and her younger, annoying cousins is infuriatingly hilarious. This is a great addition to any FVR library!
I did not want to put this story down when I read it! It is written in very comprehensible Spanish (past tense) with occasionally footnoted vocabulary for easy access so you can jump back into the story. Set in Argentina, it incorporates many cultural references seamlessly woven throughout the plot. The story is intriguing, carefully crafted, eerie, and creepy! Students of Spanish who enjoy reading mysteries or thrillers will love this story, and will learn about Argentina along the way.
