I was just delighted by this book! It has an unexpected level of authenticity to it. The main characters are from Spain and the author incorporates Spanish slang and the use of vosotros, yet they travel to Panama and everything just feels so authentic! The author is from Panama and it really shows in every crevice of daily life and underlying beliefs. I love the way the author wove mythology with the culture and the characters in the book in a surprising and satisfying way. Check it out! Your students will love it and it is the perfect vehicle for further discussion!
